Change Detection Research Interests
Using a change detection task, we report that VSTM stores relational information between individual items. Change detection of a critical probe is impaired when relational information is disrupted. This relational processing is mediated by the organization of items into spatial configurations. The spatial configuration of visual objects is important for VSTM of spatial locations, colors, and shapes. Comparing color and location VSTM, spatial configuration plays an integral role, as configuration is important for color VSTM, whereas color is not important for location VSTM. In sum, we propose that VSTM stores the relational information of individual visual items based on global spatial configuration.

Other Research Interests
Visual attention, implicit learning and memory, object substitution masking, attentional blink, visual marking and sensory psychophysics
