Change Detection Research Interests
I am interested in categorization and change detection. By using various change detection tasks, both intentional and incidental, I am looking to explore how categorical information can influence one's ability to notice changes. Intentionally, by combining the methods of Categorical Perception tasks with Change Detection tasks, I hope to uncover possible unconscious or automatic categorical influences. Incidentally, using short video clips with various changes, I am investigating whether or not category membership will aid or hinder detection. In the future I look to use change detection as a tool for studying the development of representation and categorical knowledge. As the adult picture becomes clearer, change detection research should serve as a useful means for studying cognitive development.

Other Research Interests
